For those days when you have a chocolate craving or are STARVING at 3PM, these are the perfect solution. These raw bites are made out of wholesome ingredients that include healthy fats and whole grains, keeping you satisfied until dinner. Best part? No added sugar.
For the hazelnut flavor, I used Kalot Espresso Hazelnut Almond Butter. This stuff is to die for because it has such great flavor, but with no sugary additives or funky ingredients. If you don’t have this almond butter, regular almond butter or peanut butter will work fine. You could even try throwing in some roasted hazelnuts to keep the hazelnut essence.
Ingredients
- 1 cup dates
- 1/2 cup oat flour (rolled oats in the food processor works perfectly)
- 1-2 tbs raw cacao powder, depending on how chocolatey you want it
- 2 tablespoons Kalot Espresso Hazelnut Almond Butter
Directions
- Cut and soak the dates in warm water for about 10 minutes
- Once they are soft, drain the water and process them in a food processor or blender until the mixture is no longer chunky.
- Add in the nut butter and process again.
- Add the oat flour and cacao powder, pulse again. You may have to stop and scrape down the sides to get a good mix going.
- Roll the dough or use a tablespoon to form it into bite-size balls. This recipe should make about 10.
- Place in the freezer for at least an hour or until solid.
- Enjoy!
