Looking for a simple treat to satisfy your sweet tooth? These easy strawberry walnut dark chocolate cups are incredibly easy to make and are the perfect chocolate pick-me-up. Dark chocolate adds antioxidants and walnuts give a boost of healthy fats and omega-3’s.
I know it’s not Valentine’s Day yet, despite what all of the stores may think, but if you’re already planning ahead for VDay, these cups are a pretty indulgence for the big day.
Ingredients
- 2 bars of dark chocolate (I prefer greater than 70% for health benefits)
- Freeze-dried strawberries
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- Mini cupcake tray and cupcake liners
Directions
- Crush the walnuts into small pieces and place a small sprinkle into the bottom of each cupcake mold.
- Using a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate.
- Using a tablespoon, pour the dark chocolate into each mold, over the crushed walnuts.
- Place some of the freeze-dried strawberries on top of each mold.
- Place in the freezer and let harden for at least an hour.
- Enjoy!
